Our Mission

Through relentless strategic advocacy and legal action, we hold governments accountable for keeping kids safe and healthy.

Children’s Rights has made a lasting impact, protecting hundreds of thousands of vulnerable children and we are poised to help millions more. They are depending on us…and you.

We have won landmark legal victories in Connecticut, Georgia, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Washington, DC and Wisconsin and engaged in advocacy efforts that are changing the way child welfare is practiced in the United States. Children’s Rights is proving that failing child welfare systems not only can be fixed, but can be made to run well.

“Most people have yet to understand the reality of the child welfare system. The narrative of the general public is that the child welfare system protects kids and keeps them safe. The reality is the system has disrupted and harmed too many Black and Brown families who lack resources and need assistance to provide for their children and keep their families together. The system has traumatically ripped families apart for decades upon decades upon decades.”

ECPAT-USA belongs to a network of organizations in more than 100 countries all working together to end the commercial sexual exploitation of children.

Quianta Moore, M.D., J.D., is a nonresident fellow in Child Health Policy at the Baker Institute for Public Policy. Her research focuses on developing empirically informed policies to advance the health of children.
